Why here

Lakeland is built for bats

Lakeland sits in central Polk County between Tampa and Orlando and is built around more than thirty named lakes, including Lake Morton, Lake Mirror, Lake Hollingsworth and Lake Parker. Standing water and mature live oak canopy support the heavy insect activity that bats feed on after dusk. The city also carries a large stock of 1920s Florida land boom housing in its historic districts, where wood-framed construction, deep eaves and settled roof lines leave the narrow gaps bats use to enter an attic.

Under Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission rules, bats may not be excluded without appropriate authorization between April 16 and August 14, when females are raising flightless pups. In practice that means Lakeland exclusion work is scheduled for the August 15 through April 15 window, and inspections booked during the closed season are used to plan and quote the work rather than perform it.

What we handle

Every stage of a bat problem

How exclusion works

Four steps, done once, done right

  1. 01

    Inspect

The whole envelope: roofline, soffits, vents and tile ends, not just the spot you heard.

  2. 02

    Exclude

One way doors let every bat leave to feed and stop them getting back in. No poisons, no traps.

  3. 03

    Seal

Every entry point closed permanently with materials chosen for Florida sun and rain.

  4. 04

    Clean up

Guano removed, the attic decontaminated and insulation replaced where needed.
